Midday on the 22 Fillmore to 3rd Street
I hop onto the 22, flashing my fastpass and making sure not to make eye contact with the driver lest he realize I am obviously not 17 or under as the youth fast pass indicates. My seat awaits and I capture it ever so quickly and mechanically.
A random middle aged man sits next to me and boy, does he look excited to be on the bus. He has this permanent goofy smile on his face and smells like a mix of moth balls and old spice, cranking his head around to see everything possible as the bus shakes it's way to 3rd Street. He stares at each boarding passenger, flashing them the biggest smile ever but finds only curious glances as an answer. He doesn't seem to mind though and continues his pleasant observations of the bus and its busy outside world, a smile stuck to his face the whole ride.
