Evening on the 14 MIssion
It's an early evening under infrequent droplets of rain but it's enough to have everyone squished under the bus shelter at 16th and Mission to avoid the unpleasant wetness of the first winter storm. The 14 leisurely pulls up to the curb and the crowd pours into the bus quickly to avoid the sudden brief shower that is timed perfectly with the arrival of the bus. Seeing that everyone is prone to push through the back doors, I board through the front and spot my favorite type of seat available: the coveted one-seater that creates a beautiful lonely row in the back of the articulated bus. No worries of sitting next to somebody one would rather not be pressed up against when you grab a one-seater. Settled into my spot and cleaning the water from my glasses, I look over across the aisle and spot a hesher dude, fuzzy due to my uncorrected vision but still obviously heshed out. Once I have my glasses on again, I can see he is staring at me with a smile and then the wink. I immediately start to stare ahead blankly and become very very interested in the design of my walkman.
